Senior Manager, Promotional Planning

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Manager of Promotional Planning will provide insights that are actionable to make strategic, well thought-out decisions that can drive positive business outcomes derived straight from the data. This individual will be a key player in the development of the promotional offer strategies across all channels, programs and customer segments that drive demand and provide incremental elevation to the overall business. This person will not only be responsible for the planning but also forecasting and reporting/analysis to help build a process that ensures marketing promotions are in line with and support the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting & Analysis
* Report on planned promotions and understanding differences from previous year results
* Ability to communicate results, learnings, and insights in a clear and concise manner to a diverse group of stakeholders
* Understand the incremental results and advanced analytics to drive understanding on true customer causality
* Create a test roadmap to effectively understand customer behavior and causality vs. just correlation
* Understand the impact of segmentation and create plans to drive the business based on results
Planning
* Plan the entire promotional calendar for our retail stores and direct business while strategically and analytically understanding the financial impacts on the business and having a strong business thought and rationale behind product and category based promotions
* Test new promotions and provide feedback on how to change from over promoting to a more segmented approach
* Manage the marketing channel calendar considerations for our loyalty program, CRM, and digital channels
* Partner with the CRM and Analytics teams to effectively segment customers to drive a more personalized promotional approach
Forecasting
* Build daily/weekly/monthly forecasts for demand and sales by channel (stores and web) based on promotional calendar, digital, CRM, brand, overall marketing activity and previous year while understanding and sharing risks associated with the demand
* Partner with Finance and Planning and Allocation teams to reforecast each month based on calendar and trends
* Forecast markdown vs. full-price demand based on planning and calendar
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Analytics or Statistics
* 5-7 years of experience in marketing and promotional planning
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point, SQL a plus
* Retail experience a plus
* Experience managing pricing and promotions, preferred pricing and promotional analysis work prior
* Knowledge and experienced in A/B testing fundamentals and principles

* Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing business needs
* Effective team member, with proven ability to deliver results when working with cross functional teams
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships within area of influence as well as cross-functionally within the larger organization.
* Ability to understand overall business objectives and make accurate, effective decisions
* Strong project management skills
